Despite an unexpected change in leadership this semester, the electrical division is still going strong! Since we are progressing with the SS&T Missouri instead of the Texas for this year’s competition, we’ve decided on using a 15V system, which should allow us to mitigate power blackout issues while still allowing us the capabilities to finish all of the competition tasks. In order to reach a working system we have already selected components for the systems and generated the PID diagram shown below.
This formation allows us to continue using the entire ROV in the case that one of the 15V converters has a malfunction. In order to reach a working system, we are currently working on putting the components we’ve selected into a circuit using KiCad. Other upcoming projects include documentation so that future members of the division can have the information we’ve gathered, and testing once parts arrive. We’re excited to face these new challenges and looking forward to this new semester!
